The Swedish Competition Authority has approved Euroapotheca’s acquisition of Apoteksgruppen pharmacy chain

The Swedish Competition Authority has approved Euroapotheca, UAB’s (“Euroapotheca”) acquisition of all shares in Apoteksgruppen i Sverige Holding AB (“AGHAB”). The acquisition is expected to be finalised during the second week of February 2018. The Swedish Competition Authority simultaneously approved Euroapotheca’s acquisition of 156 of Apoteksgruppen’s privately owned pharmacies, with an anticipated closing date during first quarter 2018.

“The approvals from the Swedish Competition Authority are an important milestone for us. Once both transactions have been finalised we will start working with AGHAB’s management to continue developing our customer offering,” says Raimonda Kižienė, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Euroapotheca.

The approvals follow Euroapotheca’s acquisition announcement of November 28th 2017. The initial acquisition agreement covers Euroapotheca’s acquisition of AGHAB, including 3 AGHAB-owned pharmacies, from the Kingdom of Sweden. Under the second, separate agreement Euroapotheca will acquire 156 of the privately owned Apoteksgruppen pharmacies.
