Swedish pharmacy network Apoteksgruppen, a part of Euroapotheca Group, will have a new CEO. Tomas Kibildis, a former business development manager at Euroapotheca, will start his role in the pharmacy chain from mid-March, substituting Sara Mohammar, who served as CEO since April 2019. Tomas Kibildis will also join the Board of Euroapotheca.

„Sara Mohammar did a great work in developing the Apoteksgruppen organization and leading it through to complete the transitional phase from a state-owned to a structured business organization. We deeply thank Sara for her crucial role and wish her all the best in her future endevours“, – says Laimonas Devyžis, CEO of Euroapotheca. – „Apoteksgruppen now has ambitions to strengthen its positions in the market, develop business even further and find more synergies with the sister markets. The leadership of Tomas and his experience will allow us to achieve just that.“

Mr. Tomas Kibildis has been in retail industry for over 12 years. Among other roles, he has been serving as a director of marketing at Akropolis, a CEO of online grocery store Barbora during its most intense expansion period and a board member of the Maxima Group.

„I am very happy to welcome Tomas Kibildis to Apoteksgruppen and the Board of Euroapotheca. I am sure that his immense experience in retail businesses development and leading the first massive grocery online store project in the Baltics will be a huge benefit to Apoteksgruppen, which has the long-term ambition to enter the local online pharmacy market“, – says Mr. Devyžis.

„I’m pleased by the confidence of the owners to ensure further improvement of Apoteksgruppen business. The pharmacy group has undergone major changes in recent years and the efforts are starting to have an effect. I’m honored to lead the company in its new chapter with the focus on creating even greater value and experiences for its customers, taking care of employees and building new opportunities with business partners“, – says T. Kibildis.

Euroapotheca has acquired Apoteksgruppen from the Swedish state and private owners of franchise pharmacies at the beginning of 2018. Since then, Apoteksgruppen has undergone a successful transformation from 114 independent entities to an integrated pharmacy chain. Currently the network operates 191 pharmacies and has over 760 employees.

The Group unites 670 pharmacies and almost 3,900 employees in its five home markets – Sweden, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Poland.
